Grants for Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance to Voluntary Groups, Community Groups, and Charitable Organisations

The Council no longer provides general grant funding for third sector organisations or voluntary and community groups, other than small grants of up to £1,000 through the Community Chest fund.

The Council is the trustee of a charitable trust, the House of Industry Estate, and this trust has funding available each year to make grants to third sector organisations and voluntary and community groups that asssit Borough residents in need, hardship or distress..

There is a Rural Grants scheme which provides grants to assist with funfing capital expenditure projects by rural organisations.  Funding for rural grants  will continue, however, the criteria for awards was revised from February 2016.

Please see below for more information on how to apply.
