Bedford from Ampthill, Biggleswade, Sandy, Cranfield, Flitwick,
Hitchin, Luton, Northampton, and Rushden. The Stagecoach X5 service
runs up to every half hour, seven days a week, direct to Bedford
from Oxford, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, St. Neots, Bicester and

services to Bedford from several major towns and cities including
Birmingham, Coventry, Leeds, Liverpool, Southend, Southport and
York and other destinations via Milton Keynes Coachway linked to

Bedford can be reached by National
Cycle Route 51 (Sustrans) which passes through the centre of the
town. Route 51 currently runs from Sandy in the east to Oxford in
the west. The section from Sandy to Bedford is completely
traffic-free. Cycling is not permitted in the pedestrian area of
the town, there are cycle bays at key gateway points where cycles
can be secured or cyclists are welcome to proceed on foot pushing

London Luton Airport is
approximately 20 miles away with fast frequent trains Luton Parkway
and shuttle bus to the airport. Direct trains operate to London
Gatwick Airport also. Connections to and from London Heathrow via
