Client Transport Authorisation

From the 1 April 2015 applications for a Client Transport Authorisation will be processed by the Licensing Team. 

A Client Transport Authorisation Badge is only available for employees of Operators included on the current Passenger Transport Services Framework (Approved Operator List). This is available via the following link:

Right to Work in the UK

All applicants (new and renewals) are required to prove that they have the right to work in the UK. In order to do so you will need to provide one of the following:

• Valid UK passport confirming that the holder is a British Citizen (or citizen of another EEA country – including Switzerland)

• Valid passport or other current travel document endorsed to show that the holder is allowed to stay in the United Kingdom and undertake paid employment

• Full UK Birth / Adoption Certificate

• Biometric Residence Permit

 

You are only eligible for a Client Transport Authorisation Badge if you have already passed/obtained the following;

For Passenger Assistants:

·         PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme)**

 

For PCV Drivers:

·         CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Driver Qualification Card

 

** For details of PATS Providers in your area you should contact the Community Transport Association UK who maintain a central register of certified training providers by emailing training@ctauk.org

 

As a Passenger Assistant you are required to pass an English Assessment Test, which will include questions from the Driver & Passenger Assistant Code of Practise produced by Client Transport Services which are available from the Customer Services, Horne Lane, Bedford, MK40 1SJ.

The application fee is £81.90 (3 year badge)

PCV / Badges will expire at 3 years from issue or in line with DQC, DBS or Driving Licence expiry – whichever is the earliest.  Upon production for inspection to Licensing of the renewed DQC or Driving License a further badge will be issued valid for the remainder of the 3 year period at no additional cost.

Please note that no refund will be avaliable once the processing of your application has begun.
