Dunton Community garden

Dunton Community garden

Dunton Community Garden Group (DCGG) is a registered charity.

Nestled in the heart of Dunton village within Bedfordshire, lies a hidden gem.... a beautiful organic garden of one and a half acres - designed and tended by local people. There are plenty of fruit and vegetables growing, space for children to run around, a family picnic area, willow domes for hiding in, a wildlife patch, fruit trees and so much more.

DCGG’s main work is done at The Dunton Garden but work is also done around Dunton village to maintain some open areas.

 

Tasks may include:

·         Sowing and planting

·         Tending individual plots

·         Maintenance of garden areas

·         Harvesting

·         Painting and waterproofing out buildings

·         Using organic fertilizer

·         Filling and moving compost heaps

·         Weeding. pruning and hedge cutting

·         Working with willow

·         Assisting on open days (setting up, serving teas, coffees and cake, packing away

·         Path and fence repairs
