Budget 2014 Consultation
A range of proposals to produce a balanced
budget in the face of continued cuts in funding have been unveiled
by Bedford Borough Council.
Achieving these savings is vital as the
Council is legally required to put together a balanced budget and
is again striving to protect council taxpayers from the
unprecedented and continuing cuts in government funding by
protecting frontline services.
The latest proposals identify £17.083 million
in savings by 2017 and are part of the Council’s drive to identify
more than £37.2 million of savings between 2014/2019. £8.529
million of further savings have already been identified for this
period on top of the proposed £17.083 million.
