Impressive Ward Fund Outcomes

In recognition of their work in the community through impressive ward funding outcomes, Bedford Borough Council’s Neighbourhood Support Team is to receive a ‘Silver Award’ from the Journal of Neighbourhood Renewal.

The team have been nominated for the award by a member of the public; a local resident. The presentation of a certificate and a silver plate will be made at the Journal’s Annual Conference and Awards on 26th May in London.

Bedford Borough Council has over 400 different projects run with voluntary organisations through their Ward Fund programme.

Linda Stevens, Head of Members’ Service, at Bedford Borough Council, said: “This is really pleasing news and demonstrates the value of the Fund in helping Councillors to make a difference in their Wards and cumulatively across the Borough. We have seen some exceptional projects that have been both developed and implemented to maximise the benefits to the surrounding community. Some wise decisions have been taken in order to stretch funds and make the biggest difference possible with the resources available. The projects are so varied and show how ward councillors and residents know what is best for their area.”
