Bedford by the Sea

THE SEA RETURNS TO BEDFORD

The renowned ‘Bedford by the Sea’ event returns this year on Wednesday 3rd – Saturday 6th August to Harpur Square, Bedford.

Back by popular demand, this free event will provide revellers with four days of fun in the sun and bring a taste of the sea side to Bedford.

Bedford by the Sea is great for families with attractions such as Punch and Judy shows, arts and crafts workshops, face painting, children’s funfair rides and traditional seaside food stalls.

The Punch and Judy shows can be seen on the hour from 11.00am – 3.00pm on Thursday and Friday and will be a different play each time.

Children will also get the chance to ‘walk on water’ in spheres and take part in the giant games that are on offer.

The legendary giant sandpit makes a return for all to enjoy. Parents can sit back and relax whilst the children have fun in the sand making castles.

The Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson said: “Bedford by the Sea is a great event which brings a wonderful family atmosphere to Harpur Sq reminiscent of seaside holidays. The event is also good for the local economy as it attracts people from all over Bedfordshire to come and spend their time in our town.”
