Bedford comes under the national 'In Bloom' spotlight!
After a summer of scrutiny across the borough, judges from the
prestigious Britain in Bloom are set to visit Bedford on Monday 1st
Bedford Borough was put forward by Anglia in Bloom to represent the
region at the national Britain in Bloom competition for the first
time in 2009 and last year scooping a Silver Gilt Award. The team
behind Bedford in Bloom are hoping to go one better this time but
know they face a huge challenge from the other finalists including,
Bath, Derry City, Oadby and Wigston, Newcastle-under-Lyme,
Darlington and Coatbridge.
Judges from Anglia in Bloom have already visited the ‘In Bloom’
entries for Bedford, Kempston, Brickhill, Turvey, Cauldwell &
Kingsbrook and Queens Park in Bloom this summer and have
congratulated all of the groups for their efforts to bring
communities together by improving the area they live and work
The judges will visit various different parts of the borough during
their tour, including: the Town Centre, Embankment, Bedford Park,
Golden Gardens, The Hills Lower School, Priory Country Park,
Bedford Hospital and Castle Mound.
