RECYCLE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE
Bedford Borough Council is encouraging all
residents to recycle their trees and will again be running its New
Year Christmas tree recycling service.
Residents can drop off their trees, which will
be taken away and composted, at one of eight sites across the
Borough from the 3rd to the 11th January:
· Hillgrounds Road,
Kempston. Opposite the shops near Hartwell Drive
· Jubilee Park,
opposite North Lodge, Canvin Way
· Milton Ernest
Garden Centre, Radwell Road off the A6
· Mowsbury Park car
park, Kimbolton Road
· Podington Garden
Centre, High Street, Podington
· Roxton Garden
· Seasons Garden
Centre, A6 at Wilstead
· Bedford Household
Waste Recycling Centre, Barkers Lane, Bedford
Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said:
“Last year we collected just over 13 tonnes of Christmas trees for
composting. This is an easy way to dispose of your tree and start
recycling your waste in 2015.”
After 12th January, trees can still
be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Barkers Lane.
If you can cut your tree into smaller pieces you can also place it
in the green lidded garden waste bin for collection.
Please note, this scheme is only for
real Christmas trees and we ask that all
decorations and containers are removed.
