Diving Surveys of River - 14th and 15th December 2016

Works to survey several areas of the River Great Ouse will take place on the 14th and 15th December 2016.

Several diving surveys will be taking place:

·         Assessment of the steel sheet retaining wall in front of the Bedford Rowing Club, to ensure the sheet piles are in good condition prior to further works to improve the hardstanding area in front of the rowing club.

·         Mapping of the position of a National Grid Gas Main in the river bed including a topographical survey of the immediate area in order to install new sheet piling in the area.

·         Assessment of the masonry retaining wall west of the new foot bridge at St. Mary’s Gardens.

Kaymac Marine and Civil Engineering Ltd will be carrying out the survey on behalf of Bedford Borough Council.

The works will involve divers in the water as well as support units around each site including a transit van on the bank and a small inflatable boat on the water.

Notice has been given to the Environment Agency regarding these works and this information has been passed on to The River Users Group for the area.
