A Platform to Help Build Confidence

Bedford Borough Council's Integrated Youth Support Service and Starlight Productions Bedfordshire are working together to produce a drama workshop for young people during February half-tem, at the John Bunyan Upper School, Mile Road, Bedford.

Rebecca Preen, a local children's playwright, will deliver these drama workshops for pupils all week, in partnership with the Integrated Youth Support Service, from 9 – 4.30pm (Monday 15th – Friday 19th Feb), in preparation for the performance to be held at the school on Friday 19th February, at 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

This is a great opportunity to for young people to have fun and realise their full potential, and to build their confidence.
Cllr David Sawyer, portfolio holder for Children’s Services said: “This type of workshop is often very expensive and therefore rather exclusive; only open to those who can afford to pay.  In this instance, funding has been secured via Bedford Borough Council's Integrated Youth Support Service, to enable these young people to participate in a project which they may had not otherwise had access to.”

The John Bunyan students will perform their show to parents, friends and members of Bedford Borough Council.

If you are aged 13 – 18 years-old, interested, and would like to get involved? Contact Gemma Jeeves (Teenage Pregnancy Youth Worker) or Rebecca Preen (Drama Tutor) at Bedford Borough Council on 01234 267422.
