Junior Rangers Join The Big Tidy Up
Young people in Bedford are being encouraged
to spend some of their time during half term making their parks
cleaner and better places for everyone.
On the 17th and 18th February, Bedford’s
Junior Rangers will be holding their own litter picks at Addison
Howard Park and Bedford Park during a week of environmental
The litter picks will be starting at 10:30am
Junior rangers are aged between 6 and 12 and
keen environmentalists who work with the park rangers throughout
the year on various park events, including bulb planting, guided
walks as well as taking part in summer camps.
The Pride in Bedford team will also be joining
the Junior Rangers and Park Rangers to try and encourage more
people, young and old, to get involved in the Big Tidy Up.
Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said:
“I am delighted at the active role being taken by our Junior
Rangers in keeping Bedford a greener and cleaner place to live,
work and play.
“I hope other people, both young and old, take
inspiration from them to take a more active role in looking after
all of the Borough.”
The event will also help the Pride in Bedford
team celebrate their success in the Big Tidy Up campaign - having
been commended as the Best Supporting Authority in the Big Tidy Up
