CHILDREN’S BOOK FESTIVAL – READ ALL ABOUT IT

A fun-filled programme of events designed to encourage children and families to share books and read together is currently taking place at Kempston Library until the 23rd February.

The Kempston Library Children’s Book Festival is delivered in partnership with the Kempston Community Group. It will host a series of high profile author visits where invited audiences from Kempston schools have the opportunity to meet the amazing line-up of authors: Knife and Packer, Sarah McIntyre and Steve Cole.

Cllr Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Bedford Borough Council, said: “The programme is packed with activities that are not only designed to entertain, but also to educate. We highly recommend people call in and make the most of what’s on offer throughout this exciting programme.”

A range of workshop presentations will cater for different age groups, goals and needs such as the Amazing Animal Handling Workshops being delivered by Zoolab. The Manga Workshop, for young people from 12 – 17 years of age only, with Manga Artist, Karen Rubins, will take place on Thursday 16th February, from 2.30 – 4.00 pm.
