Britain's biggest climate change campaign

Climate Week is a national campaign to inspire a new wave of action on climate change, with thousands of events and activities taking place throughout the week of 4th to 10th March 2013. Showcasing real, practical ways to combat climate change, the campaign aims to renew our ambition to create a more sustainable, low-carbon future.

To support Climate Week, Bedford Borough Council’s Sustainability Team will be holding a display and information stand in the Howard Centre (outside New Look), Bedford town centre on Wednesday 6th March from 9am - 3pm.  Residents can find out ways to reduce energy and water bills, reduce carbon emissions, recycle and reduce waste and find out about alternative transport options.

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: “Climate Week is an excellent national campaign to encourage everyone to take action to combat climate change and reduce our impact on the environment.

“Bedford Borough Council is working hard to reduce its carbon emissions by 40% by 2015 and is also offering real support to help local residents reduce their impact as well. The Council is pleased to be supporting Climate Week and anyone with any questions or would like some advice, should come and speak to our officers on Wednesday.”

The Council will also be running internal staff activities during the week to raise awareness of what staff can do to be more sustainable at work and at home.
