EXTRA £1MILLION TO IMPROVE PATHS AND PAVEMENTS IN
A record investment to improve footways across
Bedford Borough is set to be delivered.
The budget proposals for the 2014/15 financial
year include an additional £1million investment for footways. This
is in addition to the continuing record investment to improve and
maintain the roads across the borough.
Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said:
“In setting our budgets in recent years we have always been clear
that we want to direct savings away from front line services and
continue to invest in services which matter most to people.
“Local residents regularly tell me that the
condition of our roads and pavements is extremely important and we
have therefore invested more than ever before to improve the roads
in Bedford Borough in recent years.
“Investing an additional £1million shows our
continued commitment to improving the condition of our footways
right across the borough.”
The £1million investment in borough footpaths is
part of the 2014/15 Council budget, approved by Executive on
22nd January. The budget will be presented to Full
Council on February 5th.
