Holocaust Memorial Day 2012

CEREMONIES IN HONOUR OF HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY

The Bedford Council of Faiths will be holding a ceremony in recognition of the international Holocaust Memorial Day, in conjunction with Bedford Borough Council, on Friday 27th January 2011 at 12.30pm.

The short commemoration will take place in Russell Park in Bedford and will include a short commemoration with prayers, a minute’s silence and the lighting of a memorial candle at the tree planted 10 years ago to acknowledge the life and work of Anne Frank.

This service will be followed by a civic event at Borough Hall at 1.30pm with reflections on the theme ‘Speak up, Speak Out’ and the lighting of 11 candles.

If you would like to attend the civic event at Borough Hall, please contact Denise Malone, PA to the Mayor, on 01234 718620 or email denise.malone@bedford.gov.uk
