Putnoe Woods Pre-school

PUTNOE WOODS PRE-SCHOOL IS NOW OPEN

Putnoe Woods Pre-school was opened by the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, on Tuesday 20 January.

All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to up to 15 hours-a-week of free nursery education. Since September 2014, there has been an increase of families who are eligible for the funding for 2 year olds.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “The vastly improved building will help local children to get the best start to their learning. The facility provides the opportunity for Putnoe Woods Pre-school to respond to the future childcare needs of parents in the community. With more children now eligible for free pre-school education, this new resource is being delivered in perfect time.”

Cllr Henry Vann, Portfolio Holder for Education at Bedford Borough Council:

“This resource can be used to host a range of childcare offerings. It provides yet more support for both young children, and their families, within our borough.”

This project is an example of excellent partnership working between Bedford Borough Council, Early Year’s providers and The Bedford Athletic Rugby Club, as the pre-school is based on their site.
