Art Attack

Friday 18th June 2010

Borough Upper schools are bursting at their doors with talent this month as 6th form students begin to show off their creative works to the public.

Art students will be showcasing their work previously submitted to the examination boards, at schools across the borough from 18th June until 15th July. Look out for the dates at the end of this article for more information.

Bedford Borough is eager to support local up and coming young talent and will also be providing a public space for a ‘Week of Student Art’ in the Town Hall reception area. The Town Hall exhibition will start on Monday 26th July, running until Friday 30th July, from 9am-5pm. Entry is free and there will be an opportunity to purchase art work from students who could very well be the next Picasso or Monet.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “It’s wonderful to see the young talent emerging from the Borough’s schools and the passion the students have for their work is something to be admired. Bedford Borough Council is keen to support local art and I am happy that we have the opportunity to show case the excellent work of students in the Town Hall.”
