Putnoe Library Holds Garden Swap Day

Tuesday 20th July 2010

Green-fingered residents have something to look forward to this weekend as Putnoe Library hosts a ‘Garden Swap Day’ on 24th July from 10:00am – 1.00pm.

Residents will have the opportunity to trade in their trowels in exchange for a variety of goods – from other garden tools, cabbages or even for cakes!  All gardening needs will be catered for including seeds, cuttings, plants, garden produce, hand tools, home made jams, chutneys and much more, and you can come and swap as much as you like.

Cllr Barry Huckle, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Arts said: “The Garden Swap Day will be a great opportunity to make new friends and swap your best gardening tips. We have a wonderful gardening culture in Bedford Borough and it’s events like these that let us feed that culture and help it to grow.”

People attending the event will also have the chance to enter the gardening quiz with some superb prizes to be won such as gardening books.
