Lakeview School Comes of Age

Monday 12th July 2010

Lakeview School and Cygnets Nursery officially opened in September 2009, and this September it will be expanding in size as it gets ready to accommodate Key Stage 2 pupils. Additional classrooms are in the process of being built.

Sue Vint, Head Teacher at Lakeview School and Cygnets Nursery said: “We will have 75 pupils and are still growing in size. We have an exciting new build which is practically finished. Teaching blocks will be completed in August, and the administration block in October. At present, we are working with Cambridge University on setting up a link with languages here, with plans to become a language centre - I am very excited about our curriculum.”

Lakeview Lower School and Cygnets Nursery, on the Wixams Estate, is not affected in any way by the Secretary of State for Education’s announcement on Monday 5th July 2010.

Bedford Borough Council will continue to provide schools on the Wixams development.
