...And Many Happy Returns

Thursday 3rd June

Bromham Library has reached its 35th birthday, and to celebrate, people are being invited to call in between 2 - 4pm, on Wednesday June 16th, and enjoy displays and competitions with a 70’s theme, and a chance to meet local author, Ben Lusby.

Cllr Barry Huckle, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Leisure at Bedford Borough Council said: “For more than three decades Bromham Library has been an important place for individuals to take time out for themselves - to relax and de-stress. The library offers a wide-range of books and a packed calendar of learning activities.”

The guest author on the day, Ben Lusby, will be bringing along a copy of his book, which is soon to be published (in July this year). Ben’s book is based on a ghost story set in Bromham, called 'A Thousand Ghosts'. It is a time-travel novel - a projection into the future, asking 'What if?’ The initial draft of this, his first novel, was written as a full-time endeavour during a five and a half month spell – which he refers to as ‘probably the most intense and fulfilling period of my life’.

Although the library is small, it hosts over a dozen reading groups, and the library is looking to do more future promotions to target older age groups. It also offers a large section of children’s books, and holds regular craft storytelling activities.

Opening hours are: Monday – Wednesday 10am - 1.00 and 2.00 – 6pm, closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Open on Fridays from 2pm – 6pm, and Saturday mornings from 10am – 1pm.
