PR Marston Vale - Get Voting

Forest team calls on public to help bring national award to Bedfordshire

It’s transformed an industrial landscape into a vast haven for woodlands and wildlife, and has become one of the most popular visitor destinations in Bedfordshire - now the Forest Centre and Millennium Country Park project at Marston Moretaine has its sights firmly set on becoming the nation’s ‘Best Environment Project’ in the National Lottery Awards 2010.

On 1st June, organisers of the National Lottery Awards announced that the Forest Centre and Millennium Country Park at Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire had become one of just 10 projects from across the whole of England to have made it through to the semi finals in the Best Environment Project category; and the only environmental project to reach the top ten from across the entire East of England.

With success depending on the number of votes cast by the public, the forest team is now urging everyone to get voting, before noon on the 18th June. Success will put the project into the final three and into the nation’s spotlight via national recognition on a star-studded BBC 1 TV show later this year, when a further public vote will decide the winner, who will receive a £2,000 cash prize to spend on the project. To vote call 0844 686 7607 or log onto www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.

Everyone has until midday on Friday 18 June to cast a vote for the Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park - simply call 0844 686 7607 or log on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards
