Photos from the Parks
Bedford Borough Council is asking local residents to contribute
their photos of the borough’s parks and open spaces ahead of
another busy summer of ‘In Bloom’ and ‘Green Flag’ judging.
Photos of the floral displays along the Embankment always make a
great impression but pictures of places that are perhaps less well
known would be particularly appreciated too. They can be large
sweeping landscape shots of our parks to smaller photos from
allotments, community gardens or even your own back garden – just
as long as they show the best that Bedford has to offer.
These photos will also be entered into a competition with the
winning photograph being displayed at the regional and national
In recent years, Bedford Borough has won a series of awards at
Anglia in Bloom and Britain in Bloom as well as maintaining 5 Green
Flag parks. The photos, submitted by local residents will be used
to demonstrate the parks and open spaces which are available for
everyone to use and enjoy.
Photos can be emailed or posted to Bedford Borough Council and
the closing date is Monday 20th June 2011.
Councillor Sarah-Jayne Holland, Portfolio Holder for Community
and Regulatory Services, said: “People in Bedford Borough should be
proud of our parks and open spaces and we would like to continue to
promote Bedford as a great place to live, work and visit.
“To do this we are asking local residents to help us and send in
any photos you may have which show our outdoor spaces as beautiful
places to visit and play in.
“You will be helping to put Bedford on the map and spread the
word of what we have to offer.”
