THE ‘HIGH STREET IS’…PHOTOGRAPHY
The ‘High Street Is…’ photography competition
is running now - until Monday 14th July. It is open to
people of all ages and experience. To take part people are asked to
take a photo of Bedford’s High Street area, as they see it through
their eyes, and submit it to us.
There are four competition categories, with
one winner each.
- Showcase - Photos (or a series of 3 photos) from Bedford’s Big
High Street Showcase event on Saturday 14th June 2014
- My Showcase! (under 14 years of age) - Photos from Bedford’s
Big High Street Showcase on 14th June 2014, by all budding
- Architecture - Photos of Bedford High Street’s distinctive
architecture, new or old
- People/Business/Community - Capture a sense of community on
Bedford High Street, its businesses and/or urban portraiture
The Mayor of Bedford Borough Council, Dave
Hodgson, said: “Our borough is well-known for its cultural
offering, so we have high hopes for some superb shots that will
capture our High Street area at its best and most interesting.”
The entries will be judged by a panel of some
of Bedford’s finest photographers, including Mick Hutson of Rock
City Art, Adrian Bullers of Adrian Bullers Photography and Peter
Symonds as President of Bedford Camera Club. The winners will be
announced at the end of July.
The winner of each category will receive a
prize of £25 worth of Love Bedford vouchers. Winners will also see
their photographs on The Bedford Clanger website and displayed in a
Town Centre location.
