Bedford’s hugely popular River Festival
will take place on Saturday
19th – Sunday 20th
The 2012 festival saw record visitor numbers with over 320,000
spectators and participants on-site over the weekend. In 2014, we
expect even larger crowds as the festival continues to build on
previous successes with its colourful milieu of live entertainment,
river events, parade, funfair and fete with activities as diverse
as raft races, fireworks, sports, arts and heritage villages.
The Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: “The
River Festival delivers a wonderful atmosphere for people of all
ages to enjoy. It is a genuine community event which celebrates the
best of Bedford Borough and it really is not to be
Entertainment features strongly at the event, with displays from
local community groups in the arts and sporting worlds, to a
multitude of professional acts.
Just one of the popular attractions is the
live music the event offers. ‘Bedford Art Choir’ will be playing
main stage 2pm on Saturday and local band, ‘The Scruff’, will be
playing main stage at 5pm later in the day.

Illingworth, said: "Bedford Arts Choir are incredibly excited to be
performing at the Bedford River Festival. It's a great opportunity
for us to perform locally written and arranged music to a massive
audience that might not otherwise get to hear us. Can't wait!"
The Bedford River Festival is free to the public and offers
numerous opportunities to participate in, or just to relax and
enjoy a vast array of activities and performances across a 105 acre
