Streetcred's Deadline Approaches
The words ‘there’s nothing to do’, or ‘nowhere
to go’ may not be heard coming from young people within the Borough
as Bedford Borough Council’s ‘Streetcred’ scheme provides plenty of
opportunity for those with a little imagination.
As previously publicised, Streetcred is a fund
available to 13 -19 year-olds (up to 24 years-old with
disabilities) who live or go to school in Bedford Borough, to apply
for money for something to do and/or somewhere to go, and help make
life even more interesting for themselves, and others!
For 2010/2011, Bedford Borough has been
allocated £160k from Central Government for the Streetcred Panel
(made up of young people). In 2009/10 Streetcred funded 21 projects
and received an extra £50k of funding from Go East.
