Harry Hill's Winston, Works Out in The Borough
One of Harry Hill’s much loved knitted
characters, Winston Stimson, will be making a special appearance at
the Bedford International Athletic Stadium on Monday 29th March, as
he attends the 9.30-10.30am, 50+ aerobics session.
The knitted star is making an appearance at
the over 50’s aerobics class as his 61 year-old creator, Linda
Stimson, is a regular attendee. The fitness class is meant for
those individuals over 50 years of age; however an exception has
been made in order for young Winston to attend.
Councillor Barry Huckle, portfolio holder for
Arts and Leisure, at Bedford Borough Council said: “Hopefully
Winston’s presence will further draw to the fact that taking part
in fitness activities as one gets older is not only healthy, but
also provides plenty of opportunity to socialise with others, and
have great fun.”
Linda, from Shortstown, made Winston Stimson
as part of a school project on the Second World War for her
grandson George Haynes, but when the pair saw the competition to
find the best home-made knitted creation on the Saturday night show
‘TV Burp’ they knew Winston could be a winner. Winston continues to
prove to be a favourite with viewers.
