Awareness Day - 18th March

Friday 18 March is national Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day

On Friday 18 March we will be using our social media channels to make people aware of child sexual exploitation - the signs to look out for and where to go if people have any concerns. Whether you have concerns for a friend or yourself, there are people in Bedford Borough who can help you.

Cllr Shan Hunt, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Social Care at Bedford Borough Council, said: “Child abuse destroys childhood.  Child Sexual Exploitation needs to be understood, and those perpetrators exploiting children need exposing and punishing.  It is an unforgivable crime and working together we can help victims.  Any suspicions should be reported to the Police or Children's Social Services.”

You can ring the Multi Agency Support Hub (MASH) on 01234 718700 (office hours) or ring 0300 300 8123 (out of hours). Alternatively, email multiagency@bedford.gov.uk or mash@bedford.gcsx.gov.uk
