Prost! Bedford Bamberg Spring Fest Returns!

The fourth annual Bedford Bamberg Spring Fest kicks off on Friday 13th May in Bedford Town Centre.

This year’s event boasts more than 40 different German beers, wine and schnapps on offer with 12 beers brewed in Bamberg itself – including last year’s favourite, the smoked beer from Bamberg; ‘Schlenkerla Rauchbier’.

However, if none of that sounds like your thing there’s always the German barbecue and live music to keep you entertained!

Dave Hodgson, Mayor of Bedford Borough, said: “The Bedford Bamberg Spring Fest is always an extremely popular event and we hope this year will be no different.

“There are more than 40 German beers as well as wines and schnapps on offer and the popular Don Bosco Brass Band and authentic German barbecue will also be returning. In addition, anyone who really gets into the spirit and comes dressed in traditional Bavarian costumes will be given free entry!

“This is an excellent opportunity to experience the most authentic sights, sounds and tastes of a Springfest outside Munich.”

Spring Fest started back in 2008 and is run by Bedford Corn Exchange on behalf of Bedford Borough Council, to highlight Bedford’s twinning with Bamberg – both of which are famous for their beer brewing.

The event runs at the Harpur Suite, Friday 13th to Saturday 14th May between noon and midnight. Entry is free before 8pm and £2 after.
