Chill in the Park

Chill in the Park, the outdoor family music festival, once again returns to Bedford Borough next month.

The family community music event is once again completely free and runs from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday 5th June at Addison Howard Park in Kempston.

As well as the live music, free children’s entertainment will also be available as well as a bouncy castle assault course!

Chill in the Park 2011 has been organised by Spurgeons Project 229, the community resource in Kempston working with Grace Community Church and the Ranger Services from Bedford Borough Council.

Rebecca Solesbury from Spurgeons Project 229 said: “What a fantastic way of showcasing local talent and spreading the word about what’s on offer to people in the community.

“It is so important to try and keep this event free for people to attend and the committee is very grateful for any support from local businesses. We are looking for more support for future events and the day is a great opportunity to promote services to local people!”

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: “Chill in the Park is an excellent community event that brings hundreds of local people together at Addison Howard Park to enjoy live music as well as the other entertainment on offer.

“So, I would urge people to get along to Addison Howard Park, take a picnic and enjoy the afternoon of entertainment.”

Simon Rowell from Grace Community Church added: "This is a fantastic event brought about by community partnership working at its best!"

The day is a family event and people are encouraged to bring a picnic and stay for the afternoon.
