Works to Wilmer's Corner

Works to the Wilmer’s Corner roundabout start on Tuesday 28th May 2013.

The works are being undertaken by McLaren Construction as part of the Morrisons development on Ampthill Road.

Wilmer’s Corner is the roundabout at the junction of Ampthill Road, London Road, Rope Walk, St John’s Street and Kingsway.

The works include the construction of a pedestrian crossing on Ampthill Road, introduction of cycle lanes, kerb adjustments to the roundabout itself and a complete resurfacing of the roundabout.

The majority of the works will take place between 9am and 3.30pm in order to avoid the peak traffic periods. The roundabout is scheduled to be resurfaced from 8th July onwards and will take place during overnight closures. Signed diversion routes will be in place where required.

The timings of these works will mean that elements of it will be carried out at the same time to works taking place near the Morrisons development on Ampthill Road.

The works are scheduled to be completed on 19th July.
