Tavistock Street

Tavistock Street improvement works to be completed ahead of schedule

 

Tavistock Street will be re-opened to traffic a week ahead of schedule on the afternoon of Tuesday 10th May following extensive road improvement works.

 

The following works have now been completed:

 

·         The kerbs have been replaced on both sides of Tavistock Street between Queen Street and Harpur Street

·         The footways have both been replaced, including the introduction of a strengthening concrete layer beneath the northern footway

·         The new drainage system has been installed and connected to the Anglian Water sewer system

·         The island at the Harpur Street junction has been rebuilt with new kerbs and tactile paving.

·         New signal sockets and ducts have been installed in preparation for new traffic lights

·         Resurfacing works between Queen Street and Harpur Street

 

Final works are now taking place, including the installation of the new traffic signals, before the road is re-opened to traffic on Tuesday afternoon.
