Bedford Borough Council Children’s Centre Services contract was re-tendered last year, and the contract was awarded to the Early Childhood Partnership, ECP. The ECP are holding a launch event on Thursday 25 May at Queens Park Neighbourhood Centre for people to come and meet the ECP team, and take part in lots of fun activities in their Play and Learn sessions. The Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, will be attending the event at 10am and will be cutting a celebratory cake and announcing the centre’s art competition winners.

Bedford Borough Council’s vision is to give all children and young people firm foundations in life, through a strong network of family, friends and communities, with the earliest and best support that can be offered throughout their lifetime. Children’s Centres are for the community, by the community with the community.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “Our partnership with the ECP is a very exciting and innovative model for Children’s Centres.  It is designed to ensure that the right support is available, at the right time, in centres which are at the heart of their communities.”

The ECP are a consortium of local partners that include FACES, Families Frist Bedfordshire, Peter Pan Teaching School Alliance and One YMCA Watford. The ECP commenced the contract on 1 September 2016.
