Garden Waste Collections  *Last collections of the year*

The last garden waste collections of the year will take place over the next few weeks and the service will stop for this year on 30th November; collections will resume in March next year.

Check your collection calendar for the last scheduled green garden waste collection for your postcode.

How else can I dispose of my garden waste?

  • Home composting is a cheap, easy and environmentally friendly way of disposing of your garden waste. For those interested in home composting, now is the perfect time to get started. You can purchase home compost bins at subsidised prices here.

  • Bedford's Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), located on Barkers Lane, Bedford, will accept green and garden waste. The HWRC is open daily between 9am – 5pm.

In addition, as the festive season approaches Bedford Borough Council’s Waste and Recycling Team would like to remind residents that they operate a number of sites across the borough at which you can recycle your Christmas tree. Locations and opening times will be available in December.
