Dance 4 All 2011
More than 1,000 dancers, 28 clubs, 23 taster sessions and two
outdoor exhibitions. ‘Dance 4 All’ took place in Bedford town
centre this weekend and once again proved an incredibly popular day
Organised by the Sports Development Team at Bedford Borough
Council, the day offered introductory classes to a wide range of
dance styles including Bollywood, salsa, ballet, street and many
more. With sessions held in the Howard Room, Harpur Suite and the
Civic Theatre. Outdoor exhibitions were also held during the day to
encourage more people to get involved.
Councillor Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and
Culture, said: “I am delighted that Dance 4 All was again a
tremendous success and more than 1,000 people came along and took
the opportunity to try and learn a new skill.
“Dance 4 All is a brilliant opportunity to highlight the rich
variety of cultures in Bedford Borough and also does a great job of
bringing people together and I believe that is why it has proved so
popular once again.
“I would like to thank all those that organised and took part in
the event – well done!”
