WELLIES AT THE READY FOR KING’S OAK PRIMARY SCHOOL’S GRAND OPENING

King’s Oak Primary School will be officially opened by the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, at 2.15pm on Wednesday 5th November.

This new Primary school is taking pupils from nursery age up to Year 6.

Ali England, Head teacher at King’s Oak Primary School, said: “We are delighted to be able to make a real difference to the children within our community, which is having a positive impact on their learning opportunities. I especially want to thank the local authority, governors, staff, parents and children for all their support in making this possible.”

Cllr Henry Vann, Portfolio Holder for Education at Bedford Borough Council, said: “This is an exciting launch for King’s Oak Primary. Bedford Borough has the highest proportion of good or outstanding schools in our region and – nationally – has the fourth best inspection results for lower and primary schools.”

The event will provide an opportunity for all visitors to tour the school and view the new facilities. There will also be dance and choir performances taking place on the day and a spectacular finale of fireworks on the playfield at 5pm.

The school have adopted what was Abbey Middle School’s farm – which includes four pigs, two goats, lots of rabbits and guinea pigs, ducks and a cockatiel. The Head teacher confirmed that the farm is a welcome addition to the site.
