Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, the authority must state whether or not the information exists and I confirm that we do hold the information you requested.
Answer: We are only able to provide information for 2014-present, as we do not keep historical data on Tribal, it only gives the current information.
There are currently 41 Breakfast/Before Schools Clubs and 50 Homework/After School Clubs.
NB: Some schools run ‘activity’ clubs after school which some pupils may access but we do not hold information on these as we only gather details of ‘childcare’.  Schools that run their own clubs are not obliged to give their information to us and, as they do not require a separate Ofsted registration, we do not get information automatically.  Therefore there may be others in the authority in addition to the numbers we have provided above.

Hello, i would like to put forward a freedom of information request for the following items:
1. I would like to know how much the council currently spends on Taxis for people over the age of 16 per day and per person?
2. I would like to know what departments within the council use Taxis as a service for the public the most and their contact details.
The reason for this request is that we run a wheels to work scheme which helps get people over the age of 16 around via the use of a 50cc or 125cc scooter. We provide full training and safety equipment and include servicing and maintenance. I would like to learn how much of money we could potentially save the council by providing a cheaper alternative for suitable people.
We already know and are actively working towards setting this service up in other councils to help save them money. We would love to do this for you too.

I refer to your recent enquiry for information held by the Council.

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, the authority must state whether or not the information exists and I confirm that we do hold the information you requested.

All our service areas have come back with a nil response except transport services who have provided the following information which was mentioned previously in the clarification email sent  to you on the 4th March.

At present school transport  contract 2 taxis (defined as any vehicle up to and including 8 seats) which have among their passengers clients who are over 16 and of a “mainstream” status;

Q31 Route - £85.80 per day, 5 days per school week.  2 of the 7 passengers travelling are over 16.
SHUT2 - £47.80 per day, 4 days per college week.  Single occupancy taxi.

However, Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity are currently operating a Wheels to Work (W2 W) scheme in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire and the website is as below should you wish to contact them for any further details

3.)What percentage of the total new homes built in the local authority area over the five years prior to 1 April 2013 were affordable. Please express this year on year.
4.)How many applications have you received to renegotiate the number of affordable homes required in Section 106 agreements since the Growth and Infrastructure Act became law in April 2013? Please also break this down month on month up to 31 January 2015. If possible, please also state how many applications were made by housing associations.
5.)How many of these applications successfully resulted in the loss or gain in the number of affordable homes? Please state:
a.)The total number of affordable units that have been lost or gained as a result of the renegotiations
b.)How this compares with the number originally specified
6.)How many applications to renegotiate the affordable housing numbers outlined in section 106 agreements has the council received for each of the past five years preceding 1 April 2013?

Please provide specific details of the information being sought.: cost of new 20MPH speed limit orders, signage, planning and associated costs.

Reason for requesting the information.  This may help us focus on the details being sought.: I see it as a waste of money where it will be unenforceable by the police, has little or no impact on speeds and in my view the money could be used in better ways to reduce KSI figures. It seems to be more political in the hope of catching voters than a well thought out plan of action.

Thank you for your request for information about the cost of installing a 20mph speed limit which we received on 24 February 2015. Your request has been considered under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.  The information you have requested is as follows:

Cost associated with installing a 20mph speed limit are:

Consultation and making of legal Order-£1,500

Supply and installation of traffic signs-£7,000

Supply and installation of steel posts-£3,500

Installation of road markings-£6,000

Total Cost-£18,000

The Council supports the introduction of 20mph schemes and believes that reducing the speed of traffic in residential areas is a major factor in reducing the frequency and severity of collisions. It can also help to reduce congestion and encourage walking and cycling, which supports healthier and more sustainable communities. Basically, people are more likely to choose to walk or cycle if traffic speeds are lower.
