Bedford Borough - facts and figures

Population: 166,252 in mid 2015 (Office for National Statistics).  A detailed breakdown by age and sex is available here

Households: 71,700 in mid 2016 (Bedford Borough estimate)

Ethnicity: 28.5% of the population was from a black or minority ethnic community (non-'White British') in March 2011 (2011 Census).  Here is a detailed breakdown of ethnicity by age and sex

Unemployment: 1,701 or 1.6% of the working age population in March 2017 (Jobseeker's Allowance Claimant Count only)
