Foundation Stage Advisory Teachers (Inclusion)

Our Foundation Stage Advisory Teachers (Inclusion) support all settings that provide free Early Years education in the private, voluntary and independent sector.  Foundation Stage Advisory Teachers can advise and provide assistance on all aspects of Equal Opportunities and Special Educational Needs.


 This could include: 

  • monitoring, evaluation and development of the provision for Special Educational Needs and Equal Opportunities;
  • evaluation and development of a setting's Special Educational Needs and Equal Opportunities Policies;
  • provision of advice and support to Special Educational Needs and Equal Opportunities co-ordinators regarding all aspects of their roles;
  • assistance with the writing of new Special Educational Needs or Equal Opportunities policies and procedures;
  • assistance with assessment of an individual child's needs after a referral from the setting, Early Years Support Service, parent or any other professional;
  • strategies and guidance for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and
  • support with applications for Early Years Special Educational Needs funding or referrals to other professionals and
  • provision of training, including setting based / bespoke on Special Educational Needs and Equal Opportunities appropriate to meet the needs of practitioners and also address current issues and legislation.
