Teaching and Learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage
Early Years Foundation Stage Advisers provide
advice and challenge in developing high quality practice and
provision across the EYFS, supporting settings to ignite children’s
curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their
capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive.
They offer guidance on providing rich learning
opportunities through play and playful teaching, key ways children
learn and enabling environments both indoors and out, to ensure the
Learning and Development requirements are being met for children
from birth to five years old.
The Advisers help develop and improve upon the
observation, assessment and planning cycle. They also support
on a range of areas including: Self-Evaluation, Cohort and
Community Data, EYFSP, Leadership and Management, Engagement and
