MUSIC FOR BEDFORD BOROUGH LESSON/ENSEMBLE TERMS & CONDITIONS

By registering for lessons/music ensembles you are confirming that you have read and understood Music for Bedford Borough’s terms and conditions and that you agree to abide by them.

DELIVERY OF SERVICES

  • 33 sessions will be offered to a published timetable each academic year.  The total cost of these activities is divided by ten and payments are taken/invoiced monthly from October to July.

PAYMENT

  • A pro-rata credit or refund will be given at the end of the summer term on written request where 33 large group lessons or ensemble sessions have not been offered during the year.  Replacement sessions cannot be offered in the event of a student sickness or any unauthorised student absence. Where a student misses a session due to a voluntary activity (e.g.  a school activity or trip) or due to illness or exam leave, these missed sessions will count towards the sessions offered each year.  Only sessions missed through teacher absence may be credited to you.
  • Where a parent misses a payment, Music for Bedford Borough reserves the right to stop providing sessions.  We will take legal steps to recover monies owed and we may charge an administration fee to reinstate lessons.  Non-Direct Debit or BACS payers are subject to a 5% surcharge on the fee.
  • Session charges set by Music for Bedford Borough are reviewed each academic year.

ENDING YOUR CONTRACT

  • If you wish to cancel your child's music sessions, you can terminate your contract with Music for Bedford Borough by providing one full month's written notice by the first of the month.
  • Example 1: written notice received on the 1st March , sessions stop on the 31st March and last payment  taken on the 1st March.
  •  Example 2: written notice received on the 2nd March, sessions stop on the 30th April and last payment taken on the 1st April
  • Notice needs to be by letter to 'Music for Bedford Borough', Enterprise House, 36 Old Ford End Road, Bedford, MK40 4PF, or by e-mail to music@bedford.gov.uk.  Written notice will NOT be accepted if sent to the child's teacher or school.
  • This contract is continuous until the parent/carer gives notice to cease.  This includes the transfer of children to new schools.
  • Music for Bedford Borough reserves  the right to change its terms and conditions at any time.  If we do, we will give you at least one month's notice in writing.

SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN OUTSIDE ACTIVITY TIMES

  • Parents/carers are responsible for the supervision of their children outside of our advertised delivery timetable.  If your child is not attending a rehearsal but remains on the premises (e.g. only attending 3 of the 4 activities at our music centre) Music for Bedford Borough cannot supervise your child during this time.  Any student under the age of 16 will not be allowed to leave any activity (unless in their own school during school time) without your written consent.  You can indicate this on the application form.

Please note that the above information is held on a computer database registered under the Data Protection Act and is only used for Bedford Borough Council purposes.  The information is not passed to any other organisation.
