Building Control Inspections
What needs to be inspected?
Every application will be given a service plan
which highlights exactly the inspections Building Control need to
carry out before a Completion Certificate can be issued.
Typical examples of stages where inspections
are needed include:
- Commencement of works
- Excavated Foundations
- Reinforcing to designed foundations such as
rafts and ground beams
- Hard core ground floors (over-site)/Beam and
Block floors
- Damp proof courses
- Floor joists
- Roof timbers
- Drains
- Drains test
- Fire stopping
- Steel beams
- Completion
How to book a Building Control inspection
Inspection requests received before 10am can
usually be carried out that same day (excluding weekends and Bank
Holidays).
The following information should be provided
to ensure visits are able to be carried out.
- The full site address and a contact telephone
number
- The application number
- The work to be inspected
- The date inspection is required
- Your name and company
