Risks in Bedfordshire

Bedford Borough Council works in partnership with the Bedfordshire Local Resilience Forum ( BLRF ) to assess the risk from different hazards in Bedfordshire. The Community Risk Register documents all the hazards that face Bedfordshire and assigns a level of risk to each based on the likelihood that an incident may occur and the potential impact that it may have.

The highest rated risks in Bedford Borough and Bedfordshire are:

  • Pandemic Influenza
  • River flooding
  • Severe weather – storms, gales, heavy snow
  • Transport accidents

The information from the Community Risk Register directs our work and emergency plans are developed to prepare for, mitigate and respond to the key risks facing Bedfordshire.

More information on What Might Happen in Bedfordshire can be found on Bedfordshire Local Resilience Forum’s website.
