Events Advisory Group
It is the policy of Bedford Borough Council, working in
partnership with selected agencies, to promote reasonably
practicable standards of public safety at all public events in the
Borough and encourage the well-being of the public at those
In addition, the Council also wishes to promote enjoyment for
all people involved with events whilst maximising benefits to local
residents and relevant organisations.
To aid this process, the Council has established an Event
Advisory Group (EAG). The EAG comprises of members from the
Ambulance, Fire and Police services and relevant specialists from
within the Borough Council who give aid, advice and support to help
ensure that an event is successful from all aspects and to help
manage the impact of public land/highway events on the wider
Examples of Public Events considered by the group includes:
- Fetes, fairs etc.
- Open air concerts and music festivals.
- Trade shows.
- Sporting events.
- Horse shows, agricultural shows, dog shows, car/caravan shows
- Open air entertainment including concerts, theatre and historic
- Firework displays.
- Large scale company parties.
- Processions, marches and carnivals.
- Street parties.
- Charity Stunts
- Religious events.
