Mini Recycling Sites

Hillgrounds Road Underground Recycling SiteBedford Borough Council currently operates a network of 68 sites where residents can recycle glass, textiles, shoes and paper. These sites are located across the district in a variety of easily accessible areas.

For a list of local sites please click here. (49.9kb pdf)

These sites are provided by the Council for household waste only.  Waste produced as a result of business activity (trade waste) should not be recycled in these banks.

Please note:  excess waste should not be left on the floor at these sites.  Excess waste could pose a safety risk to children and animals, and could be classed as fly tipping.

Where is my nearest local recycling site?

To find your nearest site use Bedford Borough Council's online maps.  Use the instructions below to help.

  1. Read and agree to the Copyright Information.
  2. Click on the 'Map Features' tab button.
  3. Scroll down and select the material types you wish to view.

What if my local recycling site is full?

If banks at your local site are full please do not leave your recycling next to them. Email us at Environment.Helpdesk@bedford.gov.uk  or call 01234 718060 to report the full bank and we will arrange for it to be emptied.
