Recycling at Events

kite festivalstreet party, waste and recyclingRiver festival

If you are organising an event of any size, whether it’s a music festival, sports match or street party we can help you get people recycling and reducing waste!

Public events often create a huge amount of waste so planning in advance how you will manage this waste is a good idea. Most events produce similar types of waste materials such as paper, cardboard, drinks cans, plastic bottles and food packaging. All these items are valuable resources that can be collected for recycling and reprocessed into useful materials.

Encouraging people to recycle at events not only helps to save valuable natural resources and energy but it also reduces the cost of sending waste to landfill. It can also improve visitor's perception of your event. Promoting recycling and managing waste responsibly will portray a positive environmental image to visitors and event supporters.

We can provide advice to enable organisers of events of any size to reduce the amount of waste produced, implement recycling facilities and encourage visitors to recycle their waste.

For help and advice on events recycling please contact Bedford Borough Council’s Recycling Team at recycling@bedford.gov.uk.
