Family Focus Service
Family Focus is a programme that supports the whole family to
empower individuals and make positive changes in their lives.
Families that work with our service are all allocated a Family
Intervention Worker. The Family Intervention Worker will work with
the family intensively to build a support plan in order to address
areas the families would like to change. The Family
Intervention Worker will also be able to coordinate and make
referral to any other support services that are needed to make
positive changes. Below are some examples of areas we work on with
• Education - School exclusion, low attendance and behavioural
• Employment - Steps to gain employment, careers options, training
opportunities, work experience, job searching.
• Crime & Anti-social Behaviour – working with families to
reduce Crime & ASB.
• Health – sign posting families to services that are able to
support with mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. Supporting
family members to attend groups and appointments.
• Domestic Abuse – Supporting family members who have previously,
or are currently experiencing forms of domestic abuse
• Children In Need - A child that is in need of additional support,
open to Early Help Services or social care involvement.
The Family Focus Service sits within the Early Help and
Intervention Service. It is important to note this is a voluntary
service and is not a part of Social Services. We do, however, work
jointly with social care professionals where appropriate. We
do not take a 9-5 approach with our work and will often work early
mornings or evenings if needed. Our office hours are 9-5 Monday to
Thursday, and 9- 4:20 on Friday.
You will need to complete an Early Help Assessment (EHA). This
is completed by a professional (e.g. schools, Early Year’s Services
or a health professional) in conjunction with the family.
Please send all EHAs to the following email address: email@example.com
Once the referral is screened, they will be discussed at the daily
Notice gives further deatils of our targeted work and how
