Sexting is when an individual sends explicit messages or
indecent sexual photos of themselves or others.
The NSPCC warns that the number of reports of indecent images
offences made to police forces across the UK has risen from 4,530
in 2013 to 10,818 in 2015. More than 2,000 children were among
those reported to police for indecent images offences over the last
3 years. Parents are urged to talk to children about the risks of
sharing nude selfies on social media, which could be partly
fuelling the rise in offences by children.
