Drug & Alcohol support for families at HMP Bedford

HMP Bedford SORTT Family Service

(Supporting Offenders in Recovery and Treatment Team) provides support to people with drug and alcohol problems at HMP Bedford. We work in a recovery focused way to help people overcome their dependency and break out of the cycle of crime.

The SORTT Family Service can support any individuals at HMP Bedford and their families who are affected by the individual’s drug and alcohol use. SORTT understand that families are made up in many different ways and they welcome everyone.

Parents, children and families:

Families can self-refer to the SORTT Family Service. Please contact SORTT for more information and to discuss how they can support your family, by phoning 01234 373 000 and asking for HMP Bedford SORTT.

Disrespect NoBody campaign

The second phase of the Home Office Disrespect Nobody campaign will run from 2 February until the end of March 2017.

The aim of the Disrespect NoBody campaign is to prevent young people, both boys and girls aged 12 to 18 years old from becoming perpetrators and victims of abusive relationships.

For 2017 the focus of the campaign will be consent and sexting, which are both issues where many young people need more education and information. The campaign advertising directs young people to the website www.disrespectnobody.co.uk where they can get further information and signposts them to organisations who can provide support.
