Autism Strategy for Bedfordshire 2011 - 2014
In March 2010 the Department of Health published Fulfilling
and Rewarding Lives: the strategy for adults with autism in
England. This document set out the Government's vision for
how statutory services supporting adults with autism needed to
change and develop to better meet people's needs.
This was followed in December 2012 by the statutory guidance,
entitled Implementing Fulfilling and Rewarding Lives and
applied to local authorities and NHS organisations only.
Bedford Borough Council has been working in partnership with NHS
Bedfordshire, South Essex Partnership Trust (SEPT), Autism
Bedfordshire and two other Bedfordshire local authorities to
develop a joint strategy.
